Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 is all set to premiere on September 25. The latest promo where Shah Rukh Khan introduces the new-age Prerna (Erica Fernandes) and Anurag (Parth Samthaan) has gone viral and has created a lot of buzz.

However, it is still not sure who will get into the shoes of Ronit Roy as Mr Bajaj. Earlier there were report that telly hottie Barun Sobti is playing the role but the latest reports suggest that Hiten Tejwani has been approached for the show.

While talking to India Today Online, the actor rubbishes the rumours. He said, 'Nothing as of now. I don't have any clue from where the rumours of me playing Mr Bajaj started. It's created a huge buzz. Everybody is calling and everybody is asking me and I am telling whatever is the truth. The truth is that I have not been approached.'

'I am sure this Anurag is different from the previous one and I mean different in a good way. Mr Bajaj was an equally important and a very good role, which was quite appreciated by people. And, one of the best roles to do. I am sure this year also Ekta must have put in everything and developed and etched out a wonderful character for Mr Bajaj as well.'

Hiten might not be seen in the reboot version of Kasauti Zindagi Kay but he will soon be seen in Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat Season 3. The actor will also be seen in Karan Johar's multi-starrer Kalank.

Plot

Anurag Basu and Prerna Sharma are two individuals meant to fall in love yet forced to go through several trials of life to be together.

Anurag and Prerna study in the same university yet never converse with each other. Due to a series of events, Prerna and Anurag start talking and slowly form a bond of friendship. As time goes by, Prerna realises that she has fallen in love with Anurag.

Soon, Komolika makes her entry. She is arrogant and attracts male attention wherever she goes, constantly misusing her dad's political power to get what she wants. Meanwhile, Anupam makes Anurag realise his love for Prerna. On the other hand, Komolika starts getting interested in Anurag. Eventually, Anurag and Prerna confess their feelings to each other. They perform a marriage ritual, promising to marry each other and consummate their relationship.

Seeing Prerna and Anurag plan a future together, Komolika decides to create misunderstandings between them. When Moloy finds out about it, he confronts her. Thus, Komolika plots to get Moloy killed in a car crash. However, Moloy slips into a coma and Rajesh dies. Komolika asks Anurag to marry her in exchange of the papers of Prerna's house. Compelled, Anurag announces his engagement to Komolika. Prerna is left shocked and betrayed. She gets hit by a car and is taken to the hospital where the doctor reveals that she is pregnant.

Rebellious, Prerna enters the Basu house claiming to be Anurag's wife. Soon, Moloy recovers from coma. Prerna successfully exposes all of Komolika's crimes and gets her arrested. Komolika escapes and comes back to kill Prerna but instead falls down from the terrace and goes missing. Prerna and Anurag reunite and get engaged.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Bajaj, a ruthless businessman makes an entry. His aim is to take over Basu Publications.

Kasautii is mainly filmed in Mumbai but a few scenes were shot in Kolkata as the show's storyline is based in West Bengal.^[7] Furthermore, the entry of Rishabh Bajaj was shot in Switzerland.^[8]
